Day of the Dead

Day of the Dead girl is pretty and colorful. i especially liked the roses, they turned out the best. The use of color was fun to do because i don't always use color. The spider webs were used to fill in the background some, but if i were to do it over i would place them better and more strategically to complement the way the rest of the piece moves.

jack skellington

I liked this picture that i drew. Its of jack sewing is heart into her. I liked the shading in it and i think it turned out well overall. Getting the hair to wrap and flow around her body was the most difficult part. If i were to do this again i would vary the shades of grey more so they contrast more to bring more attention to certain parts of the drawing.

clay project

no picture available.
I liked my clay project. I tried to give it a rough wood texture and it has a mushroom in the corner. The side of it says Free Your Mind. I plan to paint the wooded looking part brown, and do the rest in yellow, green and red. The only problem doing this project was trying to determine how thick the clay should be; i was always trying to make it too thick. What i learned in doing this project was how to texture the clay a little more than what i had did in the past.

mushrooms

This is my favorite project this year so far. I like all the use of color. The paint splatter was fun to do. I like the large orange yellow and green mushroom the best of all of them. Painting the smaller mushrooms at the bottom completed the painting i think. I also thought that using different, darker colors as the paint splat background was a good idea, it made the brighter colors in the mushrooms stand out more.

rope

I liked this drawing because i think it was a creative way of drawing the rope. The detail used in the rope itself was poor, but the layout was nice. The most difficult part of this piece was the overlapping of the rope and getting it to look good.

Tile

No picture available
Me and Hannah were partners for this assignment. We struggled to complete it on time. Our drawing of what we were going to paint i think looked really good of the joker card. We should have worked on our time management so that getting it done would have been much easier. I think adding paint would have been difficult to make look as good as the drawing itself.

Water Color

no picture available
I never got around to doing the water color assignment.

Prints

No picture available

my prints project i never finished completely. we were supposed to have  6 different prints, i have one. I liked the carving part of making the prints. If i could do it again, i would do all 6 and do it it in pretty color.

Border Patrol

My favorite part of this was deciding how to space and what size to make each logo and border. I decided not to make them symmetrical because it keeps the project more interesting. The hardest part was trying to come up with different borders.

Candy

I thought i did fairly well on my candy drawing. The double bubble logo could have had more work added to it; more attention to detail and the white lettering. If i were to do it again, i would have thought out the composition more too. The hardest part about this was creating all the different shades in the yellow wrapper.

art career: tattoo artist

To become a tattoo artist, the only schooling needed is a high school diploma or GED, and an internship and licence by the local health department must be obtained. Job duties include administrating tattoos and piercings. One would be working alongside fellow artists. I was lead to this career because of the idea of designing wearable art. After researching this career, i would still consider it for myself.

clay project

The clay project was a lot of fun this year. I actually made something that looked okay; last years looked really bad. i made a box with a giant tootsie roll on the top. The edges caved in a little but overall it looked pretty good. I wish i would have allowed myself more time to decorate the outside.

4 steps to abstraction

i liked this assignment even though mine didn't turn out so great. The brushstrokes are really bad on the first painting and the last paintings the lines are uneven. I liked the image i chose to paint, i think it made an interesting composition. The shading with the paint turned out the best of everything. however, the color was not consistent throughout the four separate paintings.

gesture drawing

My gesture drawing could have been alot better, especially the figure with the umbrella. The other ones should have had more time put into them. The mans arm is messed up, its not proportionate to the rest of him. Next time i will spend more time on an assignment so i will get the results i want.

pumpkins

This project was alot of fun to do, especially because it was in partners. The only problem i found while doing this was that my partner and i painted things differently. To do this better, the pink webs could have been painted neater and the spiders should have been painted by the same person so they wouldve looked more simular. I love the color scheme that was chosen for painting our pumpkins, i think it is very bright and lively. Our second pumpkin never really got finished. We stopped working on it after messing up one of the sides because we used the wrong type of paint. I learned from this to pay attention to directions more carefully so situations like that can be avoided.

stool drawing

This project was very time consuming. I aslo thought it was long and kind of boring. There was not alot of room to express creativity in this project. In this project, i struggled to draw things propotionally and to draw the forshortened bar between the stool leg and the middle correctly. I did enjoy all the shading in this project even though it took alot of time.

Op Art #1 and #2

I have not yet finished these projects but im looking forward to getting them done. They seem like they will be very unique.

Magazine Reflection

The picture of this was not availible.
The magazine reflection was a diffucult assignment for me. It was hard doing it in color, i shouldve taken your advice and did it in black and white because it may have been easier. I chose to make her hair purple in my drawing because i think it gave the drawing more color, even though her hair was red in the magazine ad. The hardest part about this assignment was getting their eyes to look good and be symetrical to eachother.

This is my hello kitty waterpainting :) I like this project the most out of all we've done in art. The hardest part about this assignment was coming up with a color scheme that would fit the painting well and colors that would go well together. I liked using japenese lettering in this because hello kitty is a japenese cartoon. It says hello kitty in japenese which would be pronounced 'haro kitty'.

Pop Art Sculpture

Chelsea and i made a sculpture of a facebook like sign. I think we did well painting it and and making it look neat. However i think it was made a little misproportional to what it was supposed to be. I like our idea for our sculpture. At some point we decided that we didnt think it would work trying to make this but we decided to keep going and it turned out better than we both thought it would.
